There are very few places more scenic and more photographic than the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado.  With hundreds of miles of  breathtaking backroad trails there is something new around every turn and with the nearby Ridgway State Park and its gorgeous reservoir there is plenty of water activities such as boating, fishing, camping and hiking.  Spring comes late in the San Juans but when it comes the meadows and valleys burst alive with an array of color from the hundreds of species of alpine flowers.  Summer brings people from all over the world to view these wonders by 4-wheel drive vehicle, a guided tour or by hiking and biking our excellent trails or if you prefer try a horse back ride, rafting, hot air balloon flight, boating or our excellent fishing as well as a little of our movie making history.  There is literally something for everyone!  When fall comes a spectacular array of golden aspen will nearly blind you on a bright sunny day.  And finally when winter falls upon the mountains a blanket of snow covers and softens the rugged landscape.  This is the time to break out the snow shoes, skis and snowmobiles and head for the trails and slopes.

The San Juan Mountains is a place to enjoy year-round so make your plans and come see us often.

Winter is here in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado. The snow in the high country is absolutely beautiful and provides many winter time activities. Try down hill or cross country skiing and snowboarding or try snow shoeing, snow mobiling, ice fishing, go on a sleigh ride, soak in a hot springs pool or just kick back and enjoy the beauty of the snow covered San Juan Mountains. If you go into the back country be sure to check avalanche conditions and take care. Life is a bit slower at this time of year here in paradise but there is still plenty to do in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado!
