Check out our new piano entertainment with Dave Monson as he plays old time honky tonk pieces each week at the Grit. He will be playing Friday nights from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Hi Everyone,

We had a GREAT time at the last Open Mic/Jam at the True Grit Cafe on 1/29. Good music,good people. The next Open Mic/Jam at the True Grit Cafe will be this Sunday February 12 (2/12). I am not going to be there, but Alan Vigil has agreed to sit in and be the host for this event. Alan is an accomplished musician I have known for a long time. He will be a great host. As usual, the Open Mic portion will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. and the Jam portion will start shortly thereafter. Please come and bring a friend. The more the merrier. You don't have to perform. Just come and have a good time!
 

The Open Mic/ Jam at the true Grit Cafe will be on an every other week schedule at least through March. So following dates for the Open Mic/Jam at the True Grit Cafe will be 2/26, 3/11, and 3/25.

 

Also, for those of you who are gigging musicians, the time is approaching when the Grit will be having more music events. If you would like to perform at the Grit it would behoove you to show up and perform at one of the Open Mic/Jam's and let Tammee or me know of your interest. We are going to start compiling a list of potential performers. Tammee's feeling is that she is willing to try and support your endeavors if you show some willingness to support hers.

A very well done piece with music from the original True Grit Movie showing the locations where the movie was filmed and then showing how they look today. You will also find directions to all the locations.
 

 True Grit Days II is returning to Ridgway August 24, 25, & 26, 2012. A celebration of western movie making history in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado featuring movie stars, western art and merchandise, live music, cowboy poetry, tours and special guests. There will also be an auction for a special "Wounded Warrior" painting by Michael Bryan as well as a special commemorative Henry Rifle. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warriors Project.
